Its been a while since my last post. Don’t get me wrong, I have been traveling. Small cities here and there, but I only want to share my stories of the most epic and incredible places I get to experience. I would say that my most recent trip to Negril, Jamaica deserves a post.
We arrived in Montego Bay mid-afternoon after a long and brutal experience through customs at the Miami airport. If you are planning a trip out of that airport anytime soon…GOOD LUCK.
Our hotel in Negril was about 1.5 hours away from the airport. We were greeted after our arrival by some Beaches employees. They showed us into a private lounge where we waited for the shuttle to arrive. Vacation had officially started!
Did I mention this place was all inclusive? As much food as you want, as many drinks as you want, and the best part? Unlimited ice cream. Oh yeah.
I didn’t take many pictures of the hotel. Fail on my part. So, google it. Beaches Negril.
It was so beautiful. Literally, your definition of paradise. We were escorted to our rooms with our itinerary set for the next 7 days.
Of course, the only thing you really do on vacation is eat. Very first thing we wanted to do was experience one of the 8 restaurants we had at our resort.
We started at a restaurant on the beach. Not near the beach. Not close to the beach. Not on the pathway before you get to the beach…ON THE BEACH.
Our first night was just what we needed after a day of traveling. It also was a perfect start to a full week of experience.
The next morning we started with some sunrise mimosas…
So delicious. Everything was here. I never wanted to leave.
Our first day was just exploration. Relaxing on the beach, at the pool, and enjoying the weather. We ate jerked chicken at our Jamaican BBQ the second night here! Top 10 of the most amazing things I have ever tasted.
Over the next few days, we went on a few snorkeling trips around the reefs and had the opportunity to explore so much of this beautiful ocean. Crystal clear waters.
One of the most consistent excursions we do on our island vacations is going on a Catamaran. During our sail, we stopped in the middle of the ocean to dive off and see all the fish and sea life.
Here are some photos from my go pro:
We were exhausted after a long day in the sun. Throughout the next few days, we ate at a different restaurant every night. Asian fusion, sushi, Italian, buffet style, and BBQ. But, our absolute favorite was the Italian cuisine (obviously)
The next morning, we went on a glass bottom boat for another snorkeling adventure.
One morning, we woke up really early to travel into downtown Jamaica. The culture in this country is incredible. All of the locals were generous and so good to us. I even managed to grab a few things to help me remember our trip!
^^ This lion was hand carved and stained. Unreal.
Near the end of the week, we had a day to hangout by the beach and have a Jamaican celebration. While we were snorkeling, we found some beautiful sea starts. HUGE sea stars.
Oh, and I managed to find fresh coconuts! Yum.
Our last day was bittersweet. We didn’t want to leave this breathtaking island..but we also couldn’t wait to enjoy our cabana.
My family and I were truly blessed to be part of such an beautiful culture. We drank, ate, and relaxed. More importantly, enjoyed the company of each other. We even made some friends along the way….
While I get on my flight back to LA, I will be only dreaming of being back on this hammock 🙂
