Strong to the finish, ’cause I drink me Guinness.

We have arrived in Dublin. I wish I had more of a “greenery” picture, but being in the city doesn’t call for many plants, as you can imagine. We are staying in apartments at a local university and are just starting to get settled. There are only 12 of us for this weekend, since the other half of our group went to Barcelona. We took advantage of our limited number to go to the oldest Bar in Ireland. The Brazen Head, which is almost 1,000 years old!

This place was so awesome. They have live Irish music, 3-4 different bars inside, and the patio. I was at a very historical bar, so I figured I would have my first Guinness in Ireland.

Still trying to get used to the taste. I will admit that it is much more tolerable than it is in the States…but, one was enough for the night.

Here is a picture of the group. The people who photobombed us in the windows are all from Chicago. My step dad would be so proud. They came out and apologized for getting in the picture, and explained how it was a perfect opportunity. It was authentic, so we kept it.

We ventured off into a place known as the city center around here. There is people in the streets playing music, restaurants, and other bars that we were planning on visiting. We came across The Temple Bar.

We have been told by other students that this place is where we need to be. There was a band playing inside, multiple bars in every room, Irish music being played throughout the alleys, and there were plenty of Ireland natives. Most places are so full of tourists like us, that we just want venture off and find our place in the culture.

As we were walking through this area, two friends of mine were explaining how the two main characters from Baby Daddy were in Dublin. Catherine said, “Wouldn’t it be so weird if we ran into them here?!” Right as she finished her sentence, she saw them.

Chelsea Kane and Jean-Luc Bilodeau. I have to be honest, I knew who they were, but never really watched the show. I guess no I have to start. 🙂

First day in Ireland was definitely successful. I have so many beautiful scenic places to see over the course of the next 10 days. I will keep ya posted!
