We finally made it back to the London eye. But before I get there, I would like to say that my dear friend Brooke and I made the daring attempt to see the changing of the guards, for real this time. We were bummed to find out that they cancelled the ceremony last time we decided to wait in front of the gates. This time, we were prepared.
Brooke and I ventured out to first get a picture with a guard. I mean, why not? We had some time to kill before the ceremony. So, we did! After walking for what felt like miles, and asking multiple people in local gift shops, we found them!
I will say, I made a sorry attempt at trying to get this guy to laugh. He looked like he would stab me with his sword well before he cracked a smile. So, I gave up very quickly on that goal..
We headed straight for Buckingham Palace before we missed the ceremony. To which, we almost did! Luckily, we were able to squeeze our way through to see the majority of the parade with all the horses and band leading the group of them.
I took a video of the parade as it passed. I have so many great videos I wish I could share. Maybe I will make a youtube channel. If I do, I will be sure to post it here, so you can check it out! 🙂
We carried on our day by going to the London Eye! (But, actually getting on this time). There are no more words that could explain the views from where I was, so pictures will have to do. For those of you who do not know, the London Eye is basically individual “capsules” that holds about, 15 people (give or take a few). There is a bench in the center, and a 360 degree view of the entire city of London. It moves slow enough so that you do not really realize how incredibly high you are and are able to take pictures at every angle.
^^ If you can see the building in the center of all the greenery, that is Buckingham Palace!
As you can imagine, I took what felt like 500 pictures. We also met up with my friend Ali, so all three of us were enjoying all of the beautiful views. Always in the best company!
Another very eventful day full of memories. I leave the next day for Amsterdam. Post will be up soon. Stay tuned 🙂
